I found this piece of redwood on eBay. Inspired by the natural edge work of George Nakashima, this simple table owes its beauty to a tree somewhere in California, not to a furniture builder. The base is cherry. A significant challenge when working with “live edge” pieces is getting the weight and proportions of the base visually right. I doubt anyone achieves that as well as Nakashima did. The top is approximately 32” X 54” and the table is 17 ½” high. The lovely turquoise rocks are from SE Asia.
